ESTA
NOCHE, EL LEON BAILA
TONIGHT, THE LION DANCES
...Then he goes about gathering information to support his notion that
it would be very marketable. He got support from distributors, DJs, and
even fans. He convinced me. Boy! Am I glad!... Because it's a lot more
than mere marketing.
It's the passion Phil has for great Latin music that influenced him
when he was cute. He's still cute. And I do share his passion for the Latin
classics we recreated for this album. And I've had a great time collaborating
with him. |

The
album evolved as we worked on it. I now think of it as a romantic 'Latin-Doo
Wop-Dance' album sung in two languages. It contains an old sounding new
song called "ONLY IN MY DREAMS" which I at first wrote with the idea of
getting it into the upcoming "Tom Hanks" film. Somehow it wound up on this
album.
It contains a new sounding old song called "GREEN PLANT", a song which
seems to have a life of its own. We made a very strange recording of it
in the '60s which was released on the old B.T. Puppy label. The new version
is hot.
We also re-recorded "SWING". Phil and I were never really happy with
our first attempt at a Latin feel on the original '60s version. Thirty
years later I think we finally got it right.
Listen to ONLY IN MY DREAMS from the album. Large
File or Small File.
